Small helpers can serve in big ways.

Sea water rises.  Strong waves wash out beaches.  Oysters can help.

People put baby oysters on shells.  Then the people drop rows of shells near the shore.  Waves slow down when they bump into the shells.

Pray: Pray oysters will protect beaches. May God give people more ideas to keep land near the ocean safe.

Read More: People around the world make oyster havens along shores. In New Jersey, workers build steel wire cages. They fill the cages with rocks and baby oysters on shells. Rows of cages line the shore. These “living shorelines” act like walls that block forceful waves. More than 300,000 oysters are helping a coastal inlet in Scotland. Oysters also help make water healthy. One oyster can filter up to 50 gallons of water each day. The Lord “gives wisdom.” (Proverbs 2:6) He shows us how to care for His creation.
