She served black people.  She was a teacher.  She started a school.  The school still trains students.

Pray you will see ways to serve people around you. May God help you love others well.

Read More: Mrs. Mary McLeod Bethune’s statue is in Washington, D.C. She was born into a poor family in 1875. She was the only one of the 17 children who went to school. She read the Bible to her parents. She later became a teacher for black students. Mrs. Bethune started a school in Florida. It is now Bethune-Cookman University. She helped students find jobs. She said faith is the “first factor” in a life of service. Hebrews 12:2 teaches us that Jesus gives us our faith. He makes our faith perfect.
